I wasn't sure what I was going to do this year, but I wanted to get my flocked tree back out. It looks brighter in this window than my green one. After that I just kept adding on! How about two more smaller trees? Might as well put the reindeer that go outside in here as well. It feels like a little whimsical forest in this nook!

Most of my things are 5 to 10 years old! In fact I didn't buy anything new this year. Unfortunately that means I don't have links, but it's good to know your decor can last many years to come.

The kids finally won! We have our first dog. One child has allergies, so we went with a hypoallergenic breed and brought home a mini sheepadoodle! It's a mix of sheep dog and poodle. She was 9 weeks when we brought her home and will grow up to 30 pounds.

Here’s what I do on Friday mornings to keep this house of five in (reasonable) shape. I used to be reactive about cleaning and shopping, but proactive is easier and much less stressful. Having a routine, instead of noticing how dirty the floor is and mopping it or waiting until 5:30 to look in the fridge and figure out dinner, is actually less work in the long run. It also helps with decision fatigue and feeling overwhelmed.

My reset day is Friday to set the weekend up for success, put food in the fridge and keep up with three soccer kids tracking in dirt!
