How to paint stripes (hallway update)

Here’s an easy DIY that will add character and interest to your hallway. I love to paint instead of wallpaper when I can. It’s cheap and when you’re ready for a change you can just paint back over it. Here’s what to do … aaaand what not to do. (Don’t buy cheap tape and don’t leave the paint on top of the ladder when you close it)!

Every couple of years I add on another layer in this little hallway of ours. This is what it looked like when we moved in:

Then I added some simple wainscoting and later painted it Benjamin Moore Sage Wisdom, below.

And this time around I decided to add some stripes! I keep seeing striped hallways on YouTube home tours and think they add such a fun detail to a small space. (I did the same thing in the boy’s bathroom as well.) The color is Light French Gray.
