Easter

Decorate for Easter with me

This weekend we decorated for Easter with some potted plants, Easter dishes and, of course, bunnies. As usual, I didn’t have a grand plan, just some fun spring touches on the fly. I’ve started limiting myself to one bin per holiday — except Christmas, obviously ;) I reuse the same pieces over and over, maybe buy one new piece a year and then have fun putting them in different spots year after year.

I refinished this antique cabinet I found on FB Marketplace a few years ago. That was a chore, but I LOVE decorating it for the holidays. I thought I’d try putting my Easter dishes in there and theses sweet little ceramic bunnies my Mom gave me are the perfect touch.

I had my eye on these cabbage platter and serving dishes for awhile and finally purchased them. Buuuuut two of the three dishes arrived broken. They kindly replaced them, but then one of those was also broken! I’m just going to try my hand using a little green paint and dishwasher-safe Mod Podge to seal it.

I love seeing the same things pulled out year after year. They feel like old friends that remind me of years past. However, I know that’s not always helpful to readers if they’d like the same piece. I bought the bunny plates at Target one year and the moss bunnies on Amazon, but they’re no longer carried. But every year Target has some cute, affordable dishes.

I poke my inexpensive bunnies around the house that I’ve found thrifting or at Ross Dress for Less.

I’ve had this wreath for probably a decade! I had to hot glue one of the eggs back on because when my boys were about five and six they took it off, put it in the yard and tried to convince me they found a real egg. I believed them! At least for a bit.

If you watch the YouTube video I had a sweet little vignette on the back table of orchids and wild flowers — real and faux. I bought three potted plants and put them in some terra cotta pots. And I loved it! But it seemed a little heavy for the table and I decided they would look better on the buffet table. Then I had not idea what to do for the table centerpiece. I’m not great at centerpieces!

I added a round tray and put the orchids and a bunny. That works for now!

I was orginally envisioning tulips for the pots, but these seemed more impactful and I like the wild garden kind of look. I always love to by potted plants so that they last longer than fresh-cut.

I made the He Is Risen banner a long time ago from a plain wood banner. You don’t have to spend a lot of money on holiday decor. You can make your own or shop your yard for greenery.
