I hope you had a very merry Christmas. We had lots of family time, laughs and sweet memories. The kids were more excited this year than ever and it was joy to be able to experience Christmas through them!
Today is a cloudy, cold day so Clara and I decided to decorate for New Years and enjoy even more sparkle and twinkle lights. I’m not taking down too much Christmas, more just transitioning into a gold and silver party. Because these girls love a party!
There’s so much you can do with some balloons, sequins, disco lights and tassel. Let’s decorate! You can watch the YouTube video here.

Around the holidays it’s easy to think everyone is having a wonderful, perfect time, but no one has a perfect holiday. I’ve had Christmases alone, New Year’s arguments, grief of a loved one who isn’t here anymore. I’m sure you have too. Expectations for Christmas and the New Year run high, but I’ve found over the years to lower them. Then lower them again. Take them for what they are at this stage in your life. Things and people do change. We learn, grow and learn for the coming years.
We’ve got balloons, sequins, disco lights and tassel. Let’s decorate!

I used a balloon pump to quickly blow up about 30 balloons. I attached them to balloon tape, which easily holds the balloons to make a garland. It really adds a fun factor!

I did not order the correct size of tassels/streamers, so I cut them up in sections and taped them where the strands of lights were. I actually like it even better.

And in the dining room I used large balloon year numbers and star garland. Sequined table runners are always a good idea too.

Wishing you a happy new year full of blessings and joy. God bless you!
