This year I went with simple, green, white and gold decor. My goal is not to spend any money on new decorations this year and I stuck to it… Until I saw a house you can put a diffuser inside to make the chimney smoke and a set of fairy lights! You can decorate with me and see the video tour at night in this YouTube video.

I added battery, operated candles and lots of twinkle lights for that cozy, feel as the days grow shorter.

We’ll start at the entryway. I love to add a curtain of lights on this board and batten wall for dramatic affect. I didn’t want to move this plant because it’s so happy here so I just incorporated it in with the stockings. Luca named her Mona Leafa.

I bought this Aspen tree last year and I’m really happy with it. It’s a great size and comes pre-lit. I like the realistic looking tips as well as the faux bark.
I bought these oversized stars and ball ornaments at the Dollar Tree years ago. They make a nice impact and then I fell in with smaller ornaments.

We have their advent calendar out. No one noticed that I should’ve started that Thursday, but I know I’m on borrowed time. Find my printable activity list here.

I pulled out this frame that usually sits in our primary bedroom of the kids as babies during Christmas. So cute!

Clara was helping me decorate and I told her let’s just use the silver and gold ornaments. Then I look at the back and see that she’s covered it in hot, pink and sparkles! It’s like a reversible tree.

In the living room, I’m very excited about my new rug and coffee table! This Pomona rug was gifted by Well Woven. It is machine, washable, and very easy to spot clean. And I am in love with the pattern and colors.

The round coffee table works well in here because we have a lot of white with the floors and walls so these wood tones warm it up. I love to add in a round element when everything is rectangular.
I found this wooden checker/chess set on Amazon for around $20 and we’ve played so much over Thanksgiving week with the whole family. It’s such a fun item to have sitting out.

My daughter’s name is Clara and I have always loved the name because of the Nutcracker! So what can I say? I’m a sucker for Nutcracker items like this sweet pillow ($11!). The green linen pillow cover is also one of my favorites.

OK now to one of my favorite parts! This tin house can hold a diffuser, so it looks like smoke is coming out the chimney!! I had to put a bowl underneath so that the diffuser was tall enough, so you could see it. And then the smaller matching tin house has a battery operated candle in it.

Can you see the “smoke”?! Feels magical.

This is the piece of furniture that ruined my future furniture flipping career. What a project that turned out to be! But her she is looking all decked out for the holidays with a little Christmas village.

I new I needed this peacock lamp and capiz shade when I saw them! Marcello and Luca say it’s “too much,” as in too fancy, but I say it’s perfect!

And finally the dining room. I did not do my usual flocked winter wonderland in here this year because I’m not sure it would look good with the fig tree and monstera plant. Figgy is doing so well I don’t want move him either! So I kept the garland I had up for Thanksgiving, which has deep green leaves so they don’t look out of place.

I added battery fairy lights to the wreath and garland. They add such a fun sparkle in the evening. They come as a pack of 12 so I went a little crazy around the house!

I painted this little tree and put it in a frame for a pop of color. You can see in the YouTube video Clara was not impressed with me artistic skills.

And I reused the same chargers, runner and green goblets that I bought for Easter decor.

I got caught up in the moment and did a few touches in the kitchen as well. I don’t love red for an entire month, but in here it works. I might even add red around the house the week before Christmas for fun!

One more cute little detail. Look at this sweet mouse decal I found! We have a few of them and they add such a fun whimsy.
I’m so grateful for you stopping by. Thank you for taking a little tour with me. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas celebrating the birth of our Savior!
