A month of indoor activities for kids

One month of easy inside activities for kids

It’s cooling down in December and kids will be home from Christmas break. Staying inside can bring on a serious case of cabin fever, but here is a month of easy indoor activities that are sure to bring a smile to their faces!

Things to do inside with kids

One month of easy indoor activities for kids - handprint art
I definitely don’t let my kids cover their hands in paint every day! But this was a bit of a selfish project. I’ve been thinking about a way to preserve their little handprints and this was the perfect excuse.

1. Create handprint art

3. Go on an indoor scavenger hunt
4. Make up a puppet show or a play

7. Make up your own secret family handshake
8. Make a macaroni or cheerio necklace
9. Make shadow puppets with a flashlight

One month of easy indoor activities for kids - make snowflakes
We had a lot of fun with this one. To make a snowflake, use a square piece of paper and fold it diagonally four times. Then cut your triangles out. Adriano had a hard time cutting the triangles out, so I helped him. They loved unfolding them. And I think Luca had even more fun gluing the extra pieces to make “geese flying” on construction paper.

24. Make paper snowflakes
25. Help cook something
26. Build a tower with recyclables and masking tape
27. Build an obstacle course
28. Bowl with plastic cups or containers
29. Make bookmarks for family members
30. Make silly hats and wear them to dinner
