A Father’s Day gift he’ll want to keep

For mother’s day I made a grateful jar for my mom and grandmother, inspired by Ann Voskamp’s amazing blog, A Holy Experience. They were so well received, I decided to do the same for the male role models in my life — my dad and grandfather. These two men showed me what it was to be loved and respected as a girl, which made settle for nothing less in a future husband (and a great guy he is!).

I picked a container that reminded me of each of them and wrote specific things that make me grateful.

For my grandpa, whom I call Poppa, I chose a worn wooden box that reminded me of his lake house.

Save jar

And for my dad, I chose this save jar. It reminds me of a jar he always kept on top of his dresser when I was a kid. The change always went toward extra vacation money. Makes me smile.
